Event
1859 Dover Gas Light Company, a gas company located in Dover, DE was started. Dover Gas Light would eventually become Chesapeake Utilities Corporation.
1947 Chesapeake Utilities Corporation was incorporated in Delaware.
1948 Two natural gas companies, Citizens Gas Company, Salisbury, MD and Sussex Gas Company, Seaford, DE were acquired.
1955 Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company, (ESNG) was incorporated in Delaware.
1959 Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company extended a pipeline from Parkesburg, PA to Salisbury, MD and began
delivering gas to its customers in the region.

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation converted three operating facilities from propane to natural gas.
1966 Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company extended a pipeline from Bridgeville, DE to Cambridge and Easton, MD.
1971 Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company completed an interconnection with Transco at Hockessin, DE.
1980 Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, acquired its first propane company, Mitchell’s Gas Service, Laurel, DE.
1981 Clarence E. Sharp Company, Georgetown, DE a propane distribution company, was acquired.

Sharpgas, Inc., dba Sharp Energy, was formed to consolidate Chesapeake’s propane distribution operations.
1982 Northern Propane Gas Company Laurel, DE, a propane distribution company, was acquired.
1985 Central Florida Gas Company, Winter Haven, FL, a natural gas distribution company, was acquired.

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation's common stock began trading on the NASDAQ National Market System as CHPK.
1986 The Cambridge Gas Company, Cambridge, MD, a natural gas distribution company, was acquired.
1988 Plant City Natural Gas Company, Plant City, FL, a natural gas distribution company, was acquired.

Kellam Energy, Inc., Belle Haven, VA, a propane and oil products distribution company, was acquired.

1991 BravePoint®, Inc. (formerly known as United Systems, Inc.,) an advanced information services company in Norcross, GA was acquired.

Chesapeake Utilities initiated a natural gas distribution system in Middletown, DE.
1993 Chesapeake Utilities Corporation's common stock began trading on the New York Stock Exchange as CPK.
1997

Select assets of Sheldon Gas Company, Dover, DE and Tri-County Gas Company, Salisbury, MD, both propane companies, were acquired.

Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company transitioned from providing sales service to transportation only service. Open access transportation service commenced.

1998 Xeron, Inc., Houston, TX, a propane wholesale marketing company, was acquired.

Central Florida Gas Company’s service territory expanded to include Gadsden and Citrus counties.

1999 Central Florida Gas Company expanded its service territory to include Holmes, Union, Jackson and Gilchrist counties.
2000

Central Florida Gas Company continued its natural gas service territory expansion by initiating service to De Soto County.

2001

Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company completed a pipeline extension from Harrington, DE to Milford, DE.

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation activated a natural gas distribution system in Milford, DE.

The service territory of Central Florida Gas Company expanded to include Suwannee County.

2002 Central Florida Gas Company completed the conversion of its remaining customer base to transportation service.
2003 Chesapeake Utilities initiated a natural gas distribution system in Townsend, DE.

Central Florida Gas Company completed an interconnection with Gulfstream Natural Gas and began receiving gas from that pipeline system.

Central Florida Gas Company expanded natural gas service into its 12th county, Liberty County.
2004

A Sharp Energy propane start-up was initiated in Chester County, PA.

2005

FERC approved a four-phase pipeline expansion including 16 miles of mainline in Sussex County on behalf of Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company.

Central Florida Gas Company expanded into its 13th county, Washington County.

A second Sharp Energy propane start-up was initiated in Allentown, PA.

2006

Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company completed the first phase of the 2006-2008 expansion project, extending the pipeline further southward into Sussex County, DE from Milton to Millsboro, DE.

Chesapeake Utilities expanded its distribution systems to Georgetown, Millsboro and Frederica, DE.

The Sharp Energy community gas systems™ strategy was expanded to Pennsylvania and Florida.

2007

Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company completed the second phase of the 2006-2008 expansion project, extending the pipeline further southward into Sussex County, DE

Central Florida Gas Company expanded its service territory into its 14th county, Pasco County.

2008

BravePoint®, Inc. acquired the assets of SI, Systems, based in Clearwater, FL

Eastern Shore Natural Gas Company completed the third phase of 2006 - 2008 expansion project, extending the pipeline approximately 9.2 miles.

2009

Completed the merger with Florida Public Utilities creating a combined energy company serving approximately 200,000 customers in the Mid-Atlantic and Florida markets.

2010

Sharp Energy, Inc. acquired the operating assets of Virginia LP Gas, Inc., based in Exmore, VA.
