During 2005, PESCO expanded outside of Central Florida Gas' distribution system for the first time to pursue sales opportunities to serve other commercial and industrial customers. Extending this service statewide enabled PESCO to more than double its number of customers. PESCO's success also stemmed in part from serving its customers' needs despite supply issues caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
