Multiple Dwelling Meters:

These two drawings show meter facilities for a multiple dwelling building. There is a master control valve which shuts off the gas to all meters in the manifold. There is also a valve on the inlet side of each individual meter. This makes it possible to shut off the gas to an apartment, for example, where an emergency situation exists without interrupting service to units in other parts of the building. The number of apartments served may appear on the front of, or on a tag attached to, the particular meter.
