DOVER, DE – Chesapeake Utilities announced that grants are available through the non-profit SHARING program to customers of its Chesapeake Utilities natural gas and Sharp Energy propane divisions. Grants of up to $500 are available to those in need to assist with their energy bills.

Also for 2011, a Home Retention Grant of up to $200 is available for those going through a period of economic stress due to recent unemployment or mortgage related issues.

Over the last two years, Chesapeake Utilities and Sharp Energy have contributed more than $60,000 to support the SHARING program. Grants are also available for appliance repair or replacement. Please visit our website at www.chesapeakesharing.com for more information.
