Our natural gas-fired Eight Flags Energy CHP Plant on Amelia Island, Florida, generates approximately 21 megawatts of baseload power, producing enough electricity to meet on average 50 percent of Amelia Island’s demand. The CHP plant was designed to produce electricity, steam and water, meeting an 80 percent efficiency target.
Enhancing Overall Resiliency
The CHP plant is modeled to enhance the overall resiliency of the electric grid — keeping power on for customers in times of need, and restoring power faster to critical facilities like hospitals after major hurricanes.
