William D. Hancock

Mr. Hancock is vice president of non-regulated business for Chesapeake Utilities Corporation. In this role, he leads the Company’s propane operations, Marlin Gas Services, Marlin Compression, Aspire Energy and renewable energy projects.

He joined Chesapeake Utilities in June 2009 as general manager of Peninsula Energy Services Company (PESCO), the Company’s natural gas marketing business, and was appointed assistant vice president of PESCO in 2012. Mr. Hancock led the business through its divestiture in 2019 and has since held diverse leadership roles spanning fuel supply, energy logistics and business development. Prior to joining the Company, he spent seven years at Inergy, L.P.

Mr. Hancock has 25 years of experience in the energy industry with extensive expertise in commodity markets, supply and risk management. He earned a double major in business administration and philosophy from Westminster College (MO) and an MBA in entrepreneurship from the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC). He has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the distance learning program at Park University.
